Jan Dekker proudly introduces:

Its contribution to the UN SDGs

Sustainable sourcing

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development were adopted by world leaders in 2015 at a UN Summit. The SDGs call for action to promote prosperity while protecting the planet.

By the conscious choices we make on the way (and where) our products are obtained, we want to make a positive impact on e.g. the living conditions in economically deprived regions, and on biodiversity retention. We are aware of the difference we can make in this. These conscious choices trickledown in your end product.

SDG01

No poverty
/ Placing added value at local communities where possible. Obtaining e.g. crude shea butter from Africa instead of purchasing the nuts
Our examples: Star Shea Butter, Mango Kernel Butter, Shorea Butter, Illipe Butter

/ Working with a local partner, who works with thousands of women groups and many tribal/forest people paying fair prices in a sustainable supply chain
Our examples: Mango Kernel Butter, Shorea Butter

/ Preserving living standards in rural areas by working with small community groups, social projects
Our examples: Brazilian oils and butters, Illipe Butter, Star Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter RBD, Argan Oil, Cocoa Butter refined -RA MB, our Fair for Life-certified products

SDG02

Zero hunger
/ Careful use of natural resources, use of leftovers as feedstock with are not suitable for food use

Our examples: our oils and butters from kernels or seeds, or from streams which are not suitable for food

SDG03

Good health and well-being

/ SDG 3 is one of the SDGs where the ISO 16128 standard contributes to. We are focused on maximising the natural (origin) index

Our examples: our range of products with an ISO 16128 natural index and/or a natural origin index of 1

/ Give a preference to products with additional health benefits. In the case of our preservatives, focus on blends with a high safety

Our examples: many examples such as the Brazilian oils and butters, Argan Oil, Star Shea Butter, Gold of Pleasure, Macadamia Nut Oil, Canola Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Borage Oil, Virgin Coconut Oil, etc. In general, our oils and butters are an essential part of the health retention of the skin

SDG05

Gender equality

/ Support women’s entrepreneurship

SDG12

Responsible consumption and production

/ Reduce natural resources exploitation by using upcycled products

Our examples: Apricot Kernel Oil, Blackcurrant Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Mango Kernel Butter, Peach Kernel Oil, PRO-15, Rice Bran Oil

/ SDG 12 is one of the SDGs where the ISO 16128 standard contributes to. We are focused on maximising the natural (origin) index by choosing compliant manufacturing processes as much as possible

Our examples: our range of products with an ISO 16128 natural index and/or a natural origin index of 1

SDG14

Life below water

/ Launch of non-plastic, renewable scrub agents

Our example: Eco scrub Murumuru

SDG15

Life on land

/ Preventing deforestation by attaching an economical value to forest products without damaging the forest, thereby retaining biodiversity
